UNITS 1&2

UNITS 1&2

The Role of Accounting in Business

AT Academy recognises the importance for all our students to develop a comprehensive understanding of accounting and create a solid foundational structure for future units to come. VCE Accounting Unit 1 involves studying basic accounting principles, such as the accounting equation, recording of transactions and the preparation of financial statements. It is crucial for students to engage in regular revision and tutoring by seeking guidance from experienced tutors to be well-prepared and succeed in subsequent units and beyond.

Accounting and Decision-Making for a Trading Business

In Unit 2, students build on the foundational knowledge gained previously and further develop their accounting skills. Over this semester, our tutors delve deeper into accounting principles, such as the double-entry accounting system and introduce more advanced topics such as inventory valuation, taxation and depreciation. Our students will develop their analytical and evaluative skills by analysing financial information and assessing cash flow statements. These preparatory steps keep our students in good stead as they enter Units 3 & 4.

UNITS 3&4

UNITS 3&4

Financial Accounting for a Trading Business

As students enter the final stage of VCE Accounting, our students can rely on a solid understanding of the foundational principles developed from the past. This unit focuses on financial account for sole traders and partnerships, including the accounting treatment of inventory, trade receivables, trade payables, and non-current assets. To stay ahead of the curve, we ensure all students grow their analytical and evaluative skills, moving past the theoretical skills others solely rely on. By doing so, our students become well-prepared to succeed in the final unit and in their future careers in Accounting or otherwise.

Recording, Reporting, Budgeting and Decision-Making

The last hurdle for our students. Building on the accounting principles and practices gained in previous units, this unit covers more advanced topics such as ratio analysis, ethical issues and internal controls. We provide personalised support to our students to ensure that they can accurately respond to any question thrown at them to perform optimally in their final exam. By providing extensive revision material and ongoing support, our students enter the exam ready to excel.
