VCE Accounting Units 1–4 focus on financial recording, reporting, analysis, and decision-making in small businesses.
The beginning of the subject introduces basic accounting concepts and the recording of financial data for service businesses, touching up on accounting and decision-making for a trading business in Unit 2.
At the beginning of Unit 3, students will explore the double-entry accounting system, accrual accounting, and financial reporting for a trading business, extending to financial analysis with balance day adjustments, depreciation methods, and strategies to improve business performance in Unit 4.

VCE Business Management Units 1–4 explore the planning, establishment, management, and transformation of businesses.
Starting off, the subject focuses on how business ideas develop and the internal and external factors influencing business planning. Furthermore, students examine the legal, financial, marketing, and operational requirements needed to launch a business successfully.
Beginning Unit 3, students are required to analyse management styles, corporate culture, and strategies for optimizing human resources and business performance. Transitioning forward, the subject explores change management, leadership in business transformation, and strategies for long-term success.
VCE Economics Units 3 and 4 focuses on Australia’s economic performance and management.
Unit 3 examines key microeconomics concepts, along with macroeconomic goals such as economic growth, full employment, and low inflation. Furthermore, the concept of international trade and exchange will be covered.
Unit 4 focuses on managing Australia’s economy. It explores how government policies, including monetary policy (interest rates set by the RBA) and budgetary policy (taxation and government spending), influence economic stability. It also dives deeper into the role of aggregate demand and supply-side policies in achieving long-term prosperity.

VCE Legal Studies Units 3 and 4 explore the operation of the Australian legal system, focusing on justice, rights, and law-making.
Unit 3 inspects Victoria’s criminal and civil justice systems, emphasizing fairness, equality, and access, along with detailed criminal and civil processes.
In Unit 4, students analyse the relationship between the Australian people, the Constitution, and law-making bodies, including parliament and the courts. It also explores how individuals and groups influence legal change and evaluates recent and proposed reforms to improve justice.
