Enrolments open for 2025!
August 29, 2024
I'm incredibly proud to have led my team of VCE Accounting 3/4 students from AT Academy, Sangy Srivatsa (Glen Waverley Secondary College), Shruti Patil (St Aloysius College, North Melbourne), Riveen Gangoda (Melbourne High School) and Aryan Deole (Melbourne High School) to 2nd place statewide in the Monash Business School High School Case Competition!
The team's idea to host a beach volleyball event was to raise $30K for Mums Supporting Families in Need, demonstrating their strong VCE Accounting skills through their budgeted P&L and cash flow statement, market research, and presentation. This experience enhanced their practical accounting abilities and empowered them to positively impact the community.
A huge thank you to Jerry Lin, Michaela Rankin and Carly Moulang from the Monash Business School for hosting such an inspiring event, and to Jesse Spehar and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand for sponsoring this fantastic competition.

AT ACADEMY 2020 & 2021 YEARS IN REVIEW
To my friends, colleagues, mentors and well-wishers,
As many of you will know, AT Academy is an accounting tutoring business which I co-founded with my best friend Abeshek Nadarajah in early 2016. Our business predominantly services VCE Accounting students in South-East Melbourne. Please find below a review of our last two years:
In our 5th and 6th years of operation, COVID-19 brought new business challenges to adapt to the new virtual education environment that both students and mentors were unfamiliar with. Nevertheless, the conclusion of these two years and the business reopening and resurgence into a COVID normal face-to-face learning/teaching environment for 2022 and beyond provides me with great hope and optimism. Before turning my eyes fully towards the 2022 cohort, I wanted to take a moment to congratulate and commend the resilience of all my students in the cohorts of the last two years, who stayed motivated and dedicated through many months of lockdowns and restrictions without ever giving up.
Furthermore, as published in the Herald Sun and The Age, I am pleased to announce the results of my students, who featured in the top 8% of students in Victoria with raw study scores of 40 or more (on a scale of 0 to 50) in their VCE Accounting 3/4 subject:
· 48 – Yathavan Thaveesan, Glen Waverley Secondary College
· 44 – Pasandul De Silva, Melbourne High School
· 43 – Arnav Gupta, McKinnon Secondary College
· 42 – Anjali Yellapragada, The MacRobertson Girls’ High School
· 41 – Yathiksha Yogaraja, Nossal High School
· 40 – Karan Gonsalves, Caulfield Grammar School
· 40 – Rohit Prabaharan, Melbourne High School
· 40 – Harshitha Palanivelu, Nossal High School
I am proud to have guided my students to a raw median study score of 40 through the COVID-19 pandemic where adaptation and innovation were of upmost importance (through the use of technology platforms such as Google and Zoom). The future of this business is only in its students and I thank them all for their loyalty and support through their performance. The continuous feedback and constructive criticism of students and parents to my adaptation into virtual teaching greatly helped us to collectively make the most of this unprecedented time. I remain confident in the future of the Academy and am optimistic about the future generations of students that will come through my door.
Finally – here are some pictures of our recent Christmas Party where the students were able to come together one last time in person after the most recent gruelling three-month lockdown (of virtual classes) and celebrate the end of a successful year.
Class of ’22 – it’s now over to you!
Kind regards,
Aravind Thiagarajah
Director

October 28, 2020
Out of my five years of teaching at AT Academy, this was definitely an unprecedented year filled with challenges and turns at every corner.
The fact that I was still a university student helped me to understand effective learning methods and with the combination of student/parent feedback, I was able to implement some new teaching methods such as the use of shared documents/files, interactive whiteboards, virtual video conferencing and alternate modes of communication.
Nevertheless, I was constantly watching Premier Andrews' daily press conferences in the hope that restrictions would be eased and for face to face classes to resume. However, the pandemic just would not let up.
Today, we had our last online class, ahead of the students' first VCE exam (English) on the 10th of November, and their VCE Accounting exam shortly after on the 20th.
To the Year 12 Class of 2020 – I wish you every success in your exams and future career ambitions. It has been a challenging year however you may just be the most resilient batch of students I will ever have. I’ll always remember you.
Here’s our annual class selfie.

WITH JUST 123 DAYS till the VCE ACCOUNTING exam , the time to both revise and get ahead is now , and what better than to follow my easy ways to achieve accounting success ?
its as easy as 1,2,3 :))
Step 1 ) Stop worrying about your unit 3 sac marks . From personal experience I can assure you that it is not be all end all
Step 2 ) Try to find where you struggled in Unit 3 . its easy to move past your mistakes but personally I believe that tackling your weaknesses now will help you much more than cramming come exam time. Do trial SACs and exams in timed conditions so you know which concepts you can do fast, and which take time
Step 3 ) Learn from your mistakes to master Unit 4 . look at areas to improve such as vocab for theory questions . There's two independent examiners marking your exam so marking of theory is where it can get subjective, unlike practical. Practice makes perfect!
There we go just a few pointers to get y'all heading in the right direction . As a special Launch of my online advertising , I am giving 1 FREE CLASS to a student and their friend if they can nail this question ..
( first one to message wins )
PM WITH YOUR RESPONSE !!!
